Grant Helps Lafayette UMC Feed Area Senior Adults

Volunteers gathered for a quick photo before getting busy handing out bags of food last Thursday morning.

Earlier this year, Lafayette (Tennessee) UMC received a Kent and Ellen McNish Grant for Food Security. Funds were used to help replace older, smaller, and inefficient cool/cold storage units with a super-efficient walk-in refrigeration system thereby allowing the church to increase cold storage capacity, open up additional space for non-perishable items, and lower the electric bill.

Established in 2019, the church currently serves an average of 108 people a month. About 70 percent are senior adults. For more information about the blessings and benefits of the food pantry, Read More
